You ever get the feeling you’re not wanted?
When I started my job two years ago I was working 37.5 hours per week. Six months in, they reduced me down to 22! Now I’ve been reduced even further to a measly 15 hours! That’s 3 hours a day… I start at 8 and finish at 11! That’s not right! I long to work the Dolly Parton shift again – I’m just so bored.
‘Now Richard think of those who are unemployed’ I hear you shout, and you’re right – I feel sorry for those who are unable to work (those who choose not to? That’s a different matter)
How do people who work part time or not at all, manage to keep themselves sane? I suppose I could always fall back on some of my old hobbies, but with each one I always come up with a reason not to!
Music – I would need to re-purchase the instruments I sold last year.
Sport – Too cold and I can’t be bothered.
Art – After doing a segment on Zoe Humphries the other day I feel slightly inadequate!
Writing – Current project on hold whilst I wait for a reply from publishers.
Film-making – Requires a dedicated team and a lot of planning beforehand.
If anyone has a solution short of shooting myself, please share. I long for a nice, juicy project to sink my teeth into while I look for ANOTHER job.
