No sooner as filming started for the latest SCREAM instalment, production has come to a halt. It has been confirmed that 3 of the crew members have tested positive for COVID-19. However, the delay is only temporary, as Deadline notes, the production isn’t being shut down. Rather, after a weekend break, filming will resume this coming Monday.
The site reports that the 3 crew members will be immediately quarantined and undergo further testing. They also explained that precautionary measures were put into place prior to filming. Different departments have been separated into group “pods”, with little to no contact with other crew members outside of their group. As a result, they weren’t in the primary pod which includes “the actors, the director, assistant directors and DP.”
News that the production will go ahead will come as a relief to horror fans worldwide. We’ve already seen the likes of Candyman, Antebellum and others fall victim to COVID-19 already. Whilst we desperately wait for 2020 to come to an end, there’s no telling what other casualties we’re going to have to endure.
