Graveyard Billy Synopsis

Graveyard Billy is a cat with an extra special gift: he can see and communicate with the dead. When the unthinkable happens and Brighton’s “Graveyard Killer” murders Graveyard Billy’s owner, Piper, the small black cat is left alone in the world. Living feral in Woodvale Cemetery with nowhere to go, Graveyard Billy isn’t alone for long. The spirit of a recently deceased girl –Kelly Minter – attaches herself to the cat and makes a deal with him: If he helps her get back home to see her family one last time, she’ll help him find the spirit of Piper – and maybe even discover the creature responsible for her death.

The odd couple embark on their mission, relying on one another to get by: Graveyard Billy, the living cat, planted firmly in reality; Kelly Minter, the human ghost, stuck in that in-between place of life and death, both searching the South Coast of England for the answers they seek in life with the help of the inhabitants of the secret world of the dead. But the “Graveyard Killer” is still at large, and while he lurks no one, living or dead, is safe… ALL proceeds from Graveyard Billy will go to cat rescue charities on the South Coast of the U.K Between Brighton and Worthing

Sounds like a great book for the horror/cat lovers out there. Especially when you consider all proceeds going to cat charities! There’s even a trailer to tempt you…

Well we’ve featured quite a lot of independent movies recently so how about a change of pace? Today we’re going to tell you about a new, up and coming author who goes by the name of WD Lady.

WD’s debut novel is called Nightmarish Reality. Now although it isn’t necessarily horror (although there were a few horror elements) the series itself is horror-related and will definitely appeal to the majority of you hardcore readers.

So here’s a bit about the book:

IMAGINE EVERY NIGHT YOU WISH NEVER TO FALL ASLEEP… for once you close your eyes the unthinkable horrors plague your mind, your sanity. Eighteen-year-old Zander Russell suffers from constant nightmares. He doesn’t know what is causing them and why his nightmares seem so real, resulting in cuts and bruises all over his body. Seemingly an average student, Zander goes to a typical high school where he’s constantly bullied and teased.  The nightmares occur more frequently in the day, blurring the lines between reality and mere illusions. When Zander meets and befriends a stranger, he begins to realize how truly different he is. It’s only a matter of time before the dark demons of the past suddenly begin to reveal themselves.   Armed with a pen and a notebook, Zander records what is happening to him as he tries to put back the missing pieces of the puzzle. He must stop the nightmares before they start to take on a life of their own. Is it too late for Zander to control what he’s unleashed into the world?

Sounds awesome right? Well I thought so too, so I went online and bought a copy! (Links below) Now I could write a few sentences about what makes it a good book and why you guys ought to buy it, but instead I’m going to tell you what happened on the first morning I started reading it.

It was a typical Thursday morning; I was late for work. Fortunately, so was my train and when I arrived at the station I managed to hop aboard with a bunch of disgruntled passengers all complaining about the delay. So I found a seat and decided to make a start on WD’s book. Well it only took a few minutes before I was submerged into her world. Her character portrayal is flawless, the plot is well thought out and the book itself is constructed in a way that keeps you on your toes. (dancing back and forth in time) In all literal terms, I couldn’t put it down. I had no idea what was going on around me – the train could have been on fire and I wouldn’t have known!

I’m sure you know what happens next…

I MISSED MY BLOODY STOP!

The train ground to a halt and sat motionless for a few minutes whilst I was sat like a zombie drooling over these virtual pages. Luckily I came to a natural end in the book and just happened to look up… Not before the train started to set off again though…

You should have seen me – I was like an Olympic sprinter. I sprung out of my seat and raced down to the doors (stumbling over a briefcase some idiot left in the aisle) I pulled the emergency stop just before the train had left the platform. Well as you can guess I wasn’t the most popular person after that. Following a stern talking to by the train guy and listening to the yells and obscenities of my fellow passengers, I was allowed to leave and head to work ten minutes late.

So my dear readers. I think it’s safe to say that this book should come with a disclaimer – WARNING! READ RESPONSIBLY. USE ONLY WHEN MOTIONLESS AND WHEN YOU HAVE A GOOD FEW HOURS ON YOUR HANDS…

I know many of you like a good book to read, and if you’re going to pick up anything new this summer – I’d recommend Nightmarish Reality. It’s definitely the start of great things to come.

Want to hear about another great horror writer?

Well we’ve got one for you; Jimmy Pudge!

Jimmy is a published author with his second novel due out soon, but more importantly – Jimmy is hilarious! Now that is something we admire here at Erebus Horror. Many horror writers can be dark, moody and depressing (hey it works!) but every once in a while, the likes of Jimmy Pudge comes along and automatically you crack a smile. Now ordinarily we tell you a bit about the author and what not, but not today…  Today Jimmy himself is going to tell you in his own words what he’s about.

Jimmy James “M.F.” Pudge was born into this world on 6-9-1979 in a truck stop toilet at a TA Travel Center in the backwoods of South Georgia. An honest and conscientious man, Jimmy served several prison sentences because he refused to give in to the federal laws that impose independent spirits’ rights to be entrepreneurs.  An expert in the art of pruno, shank construction, and paper dart blow guns, Jimmy briefly served as a leader in his dorm room before being released early for good behavior.

He now serves as a gourmet chef in the fast food industry and writes during his off time. He is the father of possibly four little girls, two of which he pays child support for. Jimmy briefly considered a run for political office before discovering felons were ineligible to participate in the democratic process.

When he’s not working or visiting his probation officer, you can find Jimmy James on Facebook. His favorite color is brown. His favorite TV show is Little House on the Prairie. He thinks Nelly Olson is a scumbag.

And I think that’s enough said! Check out the link below to purchase Jimmy’s book and see what all the fuss is about – Trust us, it will be a sound investment!
